Session # 1:Digital Ethics or The End of the Age of Legends
Facilitator:Darren Kuropatwa
Location: Room 117
We live in an age where everything is recorded digitally – in pictures, video, and text – live as it happens; it's the end of the age of legends. "Selfie", according to the Oxford dictionary, is the word of the year 2013. Often the selfies our students are sharing aren't putting their best digital foot forward. As teachers, how can we help our students leave digital footprints they can be proud of? Is only sharing your "best stuff" such a good idea? How do we address the issue of digital ethics across the curriculum and in our classrooms?
In this session we will share some practical suggestions for a digital ethics policy in your classroom, share resources you can use with your students to have meaningful conversations about making ethical and responsible choices online, and share concrete practical suggestions you can use in your class tomorrow to help your students create digital footprints that will pass The Grandparent Test (it's not what you think it is).
Please download the i-nigma QR-Code Reader and Phonto apps before the workshop and bring your fully charged iPad.
Session # 2: Creating Simple Screencasts on Your iPad
Facilitator:Adam Lister
Location: Room 113
Take your instruction to new levels by creating simple screencasts in Explain Everything. This incredibly easy to use tool allows you to quickly create video tutorials that include audio, video, text and your voice to explain everything along the way. Your finished screen cast can be exported to a variety of formats and saved to a variety of online spaces to share with your students. Participants will also engage in a discussion about creative commons-licensed images and learn how to quickly and easily find and use photos with proper attributions.
Session # 3: Giving Students Voice Through Their Devices
Facilitator:Andy McKiel
Location: Room 123
A whole realm of possibilities exists for leveraging mobile devices in the classroom when students are given the opportunity to keep their phones and tablets on their desks as opposed to stowing them away in their pockets and backpacks. Why not encourage the use of mobile devices to have your students show you what they know? Participants in this session will explore a variety of tools that enable students to contribute to classroom conversations, share their personal reflections and demonstrate their learning. Not only will you see how these tools can be used from a student's perspective, you'll also be able to quickly and easily incorporate these tools into your teaching practices.
Session # 4: The Ins & Outs of Showbie and Formpl.us!

Session # 5:How To Use Notability in Your Classroom with Dropbox
Facilitator:Julie Cordova
Location:Room 205
Notability iPad app creates notes that integrate handwriting, typing, drawings, audio, and pictures. We will explore the functions of the Notability app for iPad to create interactive mobile lessons and classroom materials. Notability for iPad can also be used to annotate PDF documents, such as student assignments and PDF forms. Notability works nicely with Dropbox. Using the Dropbox application is really convenient and fast. In fact, using Dropbox on your computer is just like using any other folder on your hard drive, except the files you drag into your Dropbox folder automatically sync online and to any other computers or mobile devices linked to your account. The application runs in the background and automatically keeps your files in sync and backed up online. It's like having the same folder on all of your computers and mobile devices at the same time.
Session # 6:Quick. Create!
Facilitator:Jackie Gagne & Catharine Teichroew

Expect to be out of your seat and learning with others in this high impact, fun and educational session exploring practical ways mobile devices can be used to help students learn and share their learning with the world.
